Not sure why this one is tied up, but he enjoyed it. Time to hit some golf balls! He's a lefty, which explains his reverse grip with a right-handed club. After lunch it was time for baseball Big Bertha warming up the Scouts Sunday morning clean-up...No, you will have to walk yourself to the parking lot, no free rides here!
Firday night's dinner, created by the adults, included Western Beans with Buffalo Meat, a Buffalo Meat Stew (both prepared in Dutch Ovens), and Venison Soup. The boys really enjoyed the supper! Saturday morning was kicked off with Kickball after a Mountain Man brekafast cooked in the dutch oven, and bacon and eggs prepared in a cast ireon skillet, all over an open fire. Yes, he tied himself up like that...I think he knows his knots! I assume he used two half-hitches to tie the rope to the fence, then a bowline for the portion around his waist (so it wouldn't cinch on his abdomen) Lunch was a simple affair with cold cuts and hot dogs cooked over the fire using the simplest cooking implement...a stick The boys spent some of their free time collecting birdocks that they put together into one giant ball the size of a basketball. They dressed it up with sticks, named it Big Bertha, and waited until the darkness to cermoniously burn it in the fire pit. Sunday morning was supposed to bring rain and thunderstorms, but they narrowly missed us. In preparation for the bad weather the boys packed up all non-essential gear and hiked it to the vehicles late Saturday night. We were all exhausted after this campout, and we didn't even leave town!
